I feel like I’ve used my word quota for eternity with the word Fiji. I’ve talked about it so much I’m now annoying myself everytime I say the word.
I stayed there for 5.5 weeks from Dec-Jan and it was fricken awesome. It was long, maybe a little too long. But as soon as I sat on the plane to leave, I legit had a panic attack and cried. Rhys’ dad lives there in this cool tree house, if this all sounds familiar I did visit in 2014 and I posted the trip on the blog. So I’ll wrap this up quickly. We had our own bungalow room - also available on AirBnb. Christmas was spent with the neighbours who enjoy all the good things in life and we were super spoilt! New Years spent drinking champas alone as Rhys and his dad were struck down for nearly a week with a disgusting virus. I was hit with said virus days later, but my super human immune system meant I was ill for about 4 hours and then came good. I was bitten by a dog, which was shocking and weird but the wonderful neighbours who treated us for Christmas happen to be a vet assistant and retired doctor. They said I’d live. Battle scar still remains. I digress. The ocean is so clear and so blue it's as if it has been photoshopped. Rhys’ dad runs a snorkelling and dive business and we were lucky to see some insane corals and sea life! We started an Instagram for him, please follow and comment @drjaysfiji. More photos coming soon. You should really visit Savusavu. It’s so pretty and remote (and it’s where they film Australian Survivor). Disclaimer $$$ Please enjoy my holiday photo album. Until next trip. Bula! #jazzdbelltravels
